Wien Energie and Wiener Stadtwerke are investing in tripy through their investment subsidiary Smartworks Innovation.
Together with existing investors including Pioneers Ventures II from startup300, Element Beteiligungs GmbH and Thomas Blaschke, Professor of Geoinformatics at the University of Salzburg, the mobility start-up raised half a million euros in equity capital, which is almost doubled with around 450,000 euros in funding from the FFG. The fresh capital will boost product development and further growth in the DACH market.
triply develops and operates a cloud platform with which customers can quickly and flexibly measure and interpret complex mobility data in order to obtain concrete recommendations for action for improvement. Typical fields of application are the reduction of CO₂ emissions, cost reduction of mobility efforts, improved employee experience and employer branding through better corporate mobility services.
In addition to product development, triply's main focus is on expanding sales in Germany. In Austria, the company has already positioned itself as a leading player in the mobility data analysis market. Current customers include ÖAMTC, ecoplus. Niederösterreichs Wirtschaftsagentur, Rhomberg Bau and Wiener Linien.
"Smartworks Innovation is the perfect investor for us in this round. One of our customers is Wiener Linien, a mobility giant: 2.6 million passengers are transported in Vienna every day, 24,000 parking spaces are available for motor vehicle traffic. Triply develops digital services that stand for state-of-the-art mobility solutions with maximum resource conservation and efficiency. Of course, this complements each other perfectly,"
- Sebastian Tanzer, CEO of triply.
"For Smartworks Innovation, the investment in triply is a perfect addition to its start-up portfolio. The necessary mobility turnaround can only succeed together. With the invested capital and simultaneous access to a large customer base, we are on the right track to achieve this together with triply's digital innovative products"
- Sonja Zahradník-Leonhartsberger, Managing Director of Smartworks Innovation, a CVC subsidiary of Wiener Stadtwerke and Wien Energie.
A new product from triply is the Mobility Audit. It checks the status of the traffic caused by a company's employees in a holistic manner, including individual work commutes. The Mobility Audit is a software solution that companies, as well as organizations such as municipalities or larger associations, can use to quickly and easily survey their mobility needs to compare with their current mobility offer.
"The Mobility Audit lays the foundation for sustainable mobility. Only if the company's actual mobility needs are known can corporate mobility be designed in a truly sustainable manner - that is, in line with demand,"
- Christopher Stelzmüller, CTO of triply.
Optimizing employee mobility is an important topic. It helps companies save costs and at the same time increases their attractiveness as an employer - an important aspect in the war for talent. Last but not least, as part of the European Union's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), companies above a certain size will in future be required to present emissions from employee mobility alongside other areas making accurate mobility knowledge a must-have.
triply develops a SaaS solution for analyzing and improving corporate mobility. With the service, the mobility situation of a company can be analyzed and clearly presented and subsequently improvement measures can be planned.
A holistic mobility needs analysis helps uncover optimization, improvement, savings, and design potential in the area of corporate mobility: from cost reduction and CO₂ savings to increasing employee satisfaction and employer attractiveness.
Customers can measure and plan traffic-related CO2 emissions, mobility costs and other KPIs, and the Mobility Score and intelligent visualizations developed by triply enable transport scenarios to be clearly displayed and compared.
The primary challenges include achieving sustainability targets with diverse commuting needs, balancing cost-effective solutions with green initiatives, and navigating regulatory frameworks for sustainable travel practices.
triply enhances corporate mobility by automating processes and leveraging data analytics to provide insights that support sustainability goals, thus helping organizations reduce their carbon footprint and improve regulatory compliance.
Yes, triply's mobility solutions optimize employee commuting experiences, which can lead to reduced travel times, more efficient travel options, increased engagement, and ultimately higher satisfaction and retention rates.
Precise emissions reporting aids in monitoring Scope 3 emissions and ensures compliance with environmental regulations, thereby improving sustainability outcomes and enhancing the organization's brand reputation.
Companies should focus on adapting to regulatory changes, continuously integrating innovative technology, and aligning with forward-looking corporate sustainability objectives to remain competitive and responsible in their operations.
